The Apple Patch Diet - Weight Loss Fad Reviewed
The Apple Patch claims to provide easy weight loss by applying an apple shaped patch that is specifically formulated to stimulate your metabolism and promote weight loss with the following:
Increasing energy levels
Reducing hunger cravings
All natural & safe ingredients
Sounds pretty simple huh? In theory it does. Let's take a closer look at the three key ingredients being advertised in the Apple Patch:
Garcinia Cambogia Extract: Garcinia Cambogia Extract is a relatively small purple fruit that contains a chemical compound called Hydroxycitric acid (HCA). HCA is much like a derivative of the same citric acid that can be found in many other citric fruits whose chemical make-up is only slightly different. Studies indicate that HCA can assist in weight loss because of its ability to regulate metabolism.
Guarana Extract: Guarana is a climbing plant in the Sapindaceae family. While guarana is prominently large leaves and clusters of flowers, it is best known for its fruit, which is about the size of a small coffee berry. Each fruit has about one seed, which contains approximately three times as much caffeine as regular coffee beans. Guarana extracts can lead to nervousness, insomnia, anxiety, high blood pressure, headaches, and heart palpitations due to the high quantities of caffeine.
Fucus Vesiculosus:Fucus vesiculosus is a seaweed found on the coasts of the western Baltic Sea, North Sea, and the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans. It was the original source of iodine, discovered in 1811, and was used to treat goitre, a disease that causes the thyroid gland to swell due to iodine deficiency. In the 1860s, it was claimed that bladder wrack, as a thyroid stimulant, could counter obesity by increasing the metabolic rate and, since then, it has been featured in numerous weight-loss remedies. Fucus Vesiculosus is not recommended in high doses or for prolonged periods of time because of the high iodine content and the risk of iodine overdose.
Staggering results were reported from a survey conducted on our website. Many complained of mild irritation on the worn areas. While others that smoke and drink coffee regularly felt ill (mainly nausea and anxiety) probably due to the Guarana extracts. Most importantly, our reports stated that weight lost by participants was significantly lower than other diets tried. For those that did see results, a few days after being off the patch some of the weight came right back. The patch also doesn't address the root cause of the weight problem, be it a thyroid or just poor eating habits.
Although the Apple Patch sounds like the answer to the obesity problems in America, it looks like nothing beats a healthy meal and a workout.
