The Rules Of The Atkins Diet
It's been more than a decade now since Dr. Robert Atkins reintroduced his low carb diet of the nineteen-seventies. The low carb diet has been used by millions of people globally throughout the years and many continue to either follow the diet or try it for the first time. The Atkins diet is by no means a revolutionary method and it's been circulating since way back in the 1970's which is when Dr. Atkins first announced the Atkins diet to the world. When you first start the Atkins diet it's vital to your success that you follow the rules as there made and you don't stray away from them on any day or else you risk losing the progress gained.
When you first start the diet you'll be permitted to consume no more then twenty grams of carbohydrates a day for the first two weeks. Once you have successfully stayed under twenty grams of carbohydrates every day for two full weeks then you can start adding five grams of daily carbohydrates to your diet each week. This means that on the third week of the diet you can consume twenty-five grams of carbohydrates and the fourth week thirty grams and so on. The ideal amount of carbohydrates to stay within is 40-90 depending on factors like age, sex, size, etc. Once you reach a number you're comfortable with in the target zone of 40-90 then you must stick with that number of carbohydrates daily on a long-term basis.
If you follow those rules then over time you'll start seeing great progression with your goal of losing weight. Rates of obesity are also still continually rising and more people are in need of dieting. Typically if you follow the rules of the Atkins diet you will have success but if you don't follow the rules everyday then results may not be as pleasing. It's also good to note that most people who try the diet drop out of completing it, meaning that if you can manage to stick with diet there's a great chance you can overcome obesity.
